Ten Years Ago – October 10, 2002
Parke County hosted their annual Covered Bridge Festival from Oct. 11-20. This event is celebrated in honor of the Covered Bridge Capitol of the World. The event occurs annually and is chocked full of foods, drinks, crafts, and even a few flea markets.

Fifty Years Ago – October 10, 1962
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College  students were no longer forced to waste their time and money driving to Notre Dame for a good football game. Woodsies could take the short trip back to the soccer-turned football field and watch the SMWC intramural touch football team.
