If you wish to add new skills to your resume then Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College is the place for you to be on Saturday, November 16th, 2013, as students host their third annual Leadership Summit. Our students at SMWC will have the opportunity to expand and develop their leadership skills. This year’s summit will be held in the SMWC Rooney Library, and it will kick off with continental breakfast for the participants.
This year, the keynote speaker will be Josette Rathbun, ’85. Rathburn was the First Vice President of Wealth Management at Merrill Lynch, and has over 25 years of experience being within a financial industry, for which she is viewed as a successful woman, leader, and role model.
Sherry Bube, the president of the Student Senate said,
“This year, the Leadership Summit is focused on the idea of taking those aspects, the pieces of leadership, that are necessary in any leadership role, and how to best work towards the goal. Through collaboration with the other team members, the goal can be reached more effectively with invested engagement of all team members.”
“This is my first Summit so I’m very excited. I’m hoping to meet an interesting group of people. I also want to learn a few pointers that I will be able to use in the future,” states freshman student, Cynthia Grieser who is a participant this year.
The summit will include two sessions, where participants will be divided into two groups. The sessions that they will be included are ‘Group Schematics’ and ‘Gender Operations: Women as Leaders.’
For those who are participating, Student Senate hopes that participants expand their skills and knowledge.
If you did not manage to apply for this year’s summit, please keep an eye out for information on next year’s.
